About Us
Drive for 65 was created to honor the memory of Dennis Hughes and help make the fight against cancer a little easier for those battling today. The name comes from the unfortunate family history of Hughes men passing at age 64 (Dennis was preceded in this fashion by his older brother, Tom, and his father, Vincent, both cancer-related) as well as Dennis' love for golf. Shouts to Uncle Larry for breaking the trend and giving hope to younger Hughes men everywhere that there is indeed life after 64! Through our annual golf outing we strive to keep his memory alive and raise a few dollars (over $40,000 and counting) along the way for The Regional Cancer Center at Holy Name Medical Center - recently renamed the Patricia Lynch Cancer Center. Dennis was one of the most generous people to ever walk this earth and we think he'd be proud to know his legacy continues with this organization.
